Overall Rating: 84

Friendliness of Staff: 7
Nice staff, what you would expect to find at a higher end course. However, they used to have bag attendants that would take your clubs from your car, but it appears as though they don’t make a conscious effort to do that anymore.

Facilities/Pro Shop: 10
Beautiful bar and restaurant, with a more upscale selection of quality food and drinks. Huge outdoor patio overlooking the course where you can enjoy a cold brew. Banquet facilities available for all functions. Overall, a very beautiful facility.

Quality/Value of Food/Snacks: 8
Good selection of sandwiches and better menu selection than just hot dogs and hamburgs. Five or six beers on draft. Reasonably affordable.

Fairway Conditions: 8
Green and plush. Tends to hold a little water. They are softer than your average fairway. You run the risk of hitting a couple chunky shots or having your ball plug after a day of rain. No disease at all and in very good shape.

Greens Conditions: 7
Beautiful greens that are pretty hard to read. As other greens in the Central Mass area, can be inconsistent. In good shape, hardly any divot marks, and seemed to repair themselves well.

Scenery: 8
Layout of the course overall is beautiful, with holes number 6, 8, & 15 being particularly nice. Nothing over the top, but a lot of wasteland areas that make for an interesting dynamic.

Difficulty of Course: 10
This course is absolutely target golf. You aren’t able to use a driver off the tee on most of the holes. It requires precision iron shots with total accuracy. Several holes require you to carry environmental wasteland areas. The greens are tough to putt on. Not a course where the average hacker would want to play, considering the cost. You would have to be a mountain goat to walk this course.

Value Received: 8
Great course and for a golfer that can score well, absolutely worth spending the money to play. You can enjoy a great round of golf and a nice lunch overlooking the course afterwards, but the staff does not blow you away.

Speed of Play/Design of Course: 9
The course is generally not packed with people, so you move right along. The overall design and layout is well thought out and beautiful.

19th Hole: 9
Upscale bar/bistro with a good selection of draft beer. Their patio is extremely nice and gives you the opportunity to watch outside while golfers come in. Absolutely worth making the time after your round to enjoy a couple of cold pops.

There is no beer cart on the course.

Comments:
This is one of Ross’s favorite course’s in Massachusetts to play. If you are willing to spend a little more money, do yourself a favor and go play a round at this course. You will be impressed. However, if you are not willing to spend $75 on a round of golf and you don’t want to lose a lot of balls, you may want to think twice about playing Cyprian Keyes if you are not an 80’s golfer. Considering this course is in Boylston, MA, not many people have probably heard about it, but it’s absolutely one of the hidden jewels in Massachusetts.
